In this workshop you will learn the basis of duplex imaging and the set-up of the machine. We will focus on the anatomy of the venous system of the leg including superficial and deep venous disease and how to image this as well as case presentations. In small groups you will perform duplex examination yourselfs on healthy volunteers and patients.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potentially deadly medical condition that is costly to treat and impacts thousands of lives every year. DVT is characterized by the formation of blood clots within the deep venous system of the body. If a DVT dislodges it can lead to venous thromboembolism (VTE) and pulmonary embolism (PE), both of which can lead to significant morbidity or death. Learn how the combination of IVUS and thrombectomy can change the management of this group of patients.

In this workshop you will learn how to recognize a DVT, both in the leg as well as in the pelvis. We will discuss complex cases like acute iliofemoral DVT, post-thrombotic syndrome, combined superficial and deep venous disease and imaging of the pelvic veins. In small groups you will perform duplex examination yourselfs on healthy volunteers and patients.
